The US reiterates concerns over North Korea's alleged role in supplying arms to Russia amidst the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war, deeming such transfers "dangerous."
North Korea has secretly sent more than 1,000 ammunition containers to Russia in support of its invasion of Ukraine, Ukraine’s Armed Forces shot down a Russian SU-25 fighter jet and an Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone.
“We condemn the DPRK for providing Russia with this military equipment, which will be used to attack Ukrainian cities,” US Security Council spokesman John Kirby said, according to Bloomberg.
Russia intends to falsely accuse Ukraine of selling Western weapons to Hamas, according to Ukrainian intelligence. Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops have repelled dozens of Russian attacks and are pushing toward a key Russian stronghold in the south. Russia has also stepped up strikes across Ukraine, carrying out over 300 just this past week.
Pyongyang has been providing military assistance to Moscow, albeit discreetly, said Kyrylo Budanov, Ukraine's intelligence chief, the NV reports. On 13 September, the leader of North Korea visited Russia's Far East and met with Putin. Following the talks, Kim Jong Un expressed support for Russia but did not mention military aid.
