Ukraine’s Air Force says the Russian forces again attacked Ukraine with explosive drones and missiles from the Russian territory overnight into 21 February 2024, launching an anti-aircraft guided missile S-300 and four cruise missiles Kh-22 from Rostov Oblast, a guided aircraft missile Kh-59 from Belgorod Oblast, and 19 Shahed-type one-way attack drones from Primorsko-Akhtarsk. The Air Force’s commander also reports the downing of a Russian bomber aircraft.

“As a result of combat operations, a Kh-59 guided missile was destroyed in Poltava Oblast and 13 of the 19 Shaheds in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk oblasts. Some of the six unhit enemy UAVs did not reach their targets,” the Air Force reported.

The report says the Ukrainian forces engaged anti-aircraft missile units, mobile firing groups, and electronic warfare assets in repelling Russia’s air assault.

Mykola Oleshchuk, Ukrainian Air Force’s Commander, reported this morning that Ukraine’s air defenders had downed a Russian Su-34 fighter bomber and targeted a Su-35 fighter jet, but the latter managed to evade a missile.

Kramatorsk

Vadym Filashkin, Donetsk Oblast Military Administration Head, reported that Russians again attacked Kramatorsk with two missiles at about 20;00 on 20 February, causing damage and injuries:

“Two explosions occurred in the city – the Russians hit the industrial zone and residential buildings. We know about three wounded and numerous damaged high-rise buildings,” he wrote an hour after the attack.
