Petroleum transport operators of Russia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Belarus want to create their own association

On December 11, 2014, AK Transneft OJSC, Transpetrol (Slovakia), Gomeltransneft Druzhba (Belarus), Przyjaźń (Poland), MOL (Hungary), and MERO CR (Czech Republic) met in Prague to sign a memorandum on the creation of a quadripartite Association of European petroleum transport companies. This was stated on the Transneft’s website.

“The Association, or the so-called European Pipeline Club, will be a discussion forum for pipeline companies in Europe and Kazakhstan.” said the President of AK Transneft OJSC, Nikolai Tokarev, who signed the document as the representative of Russia.

The club was formed to coordinate more efficient development of petroleum transport systems of companies from member-countries. In addition, the purpose of its creation is to enhance the stability of international petroleum transport. In future, it is expected that companies operating pipeline networks in Poland, Germany and Kazakhstan will become members of the club.
