The Russians, fed up with the “sellout bourgeois courts,” calling for Putin to break all ties with the West, don’t understand what kind of country they will wake up in on the following day
What you are about to read is an opinion of a Russian citizen with a university diploma, a good specialty and a wonderful salary. A person whose work has to do with pricey foreign technology. They are not words of a bandit with seven years of schooling and zero knowledge about world geopolitics. And this is what a conscientious Russian man with an above-average salary and specialty proposes to his President:
“The games are over. Today UKOS, tomorrow Pussy Riot and so forth. It is stupid to pay to sellout courts. It is best to send them all to hell right away. Halliburn has to go. Let’s replace it with machinery factories and McDonald’s.
It is necessary to immediately:
- Break all ties with Europe and the US and close the borders.
- Nationalize all assets foreign countries have on the territory of the Russian Federation.
- Not to sell oil or gas.
- Immediately put all free funds into agriculture.
- Reinforce the defense potential of the country by increasing nuclear potential.”
If Putin were able to reproduce all points without any exception, the Russians would get something other than a USSR 2.0. They would get North Korea 2.0 with all of its charms.
However, it just a little more time, the Russians would have no sense in asking Putin to carry out these points. Together with the USA, Australia, Japan and other countries, Europe is gradually isolating itself from the Russian Federation. Or best put, they are isolating it from the rest of the world.
The Hague court already ordered to pay the YUKOS shareholder $50 billion. Yes, Russia will appeal, make responsive plaints, but the decision of the Netherlands High Court is obligatory for execution (the payment has to happen before January 1, 2015). And then they can sue all they want. If there is no payment, Russian property will be seized. This might be followed by the first and second points of the demands of the average Russian – break business ties between the RF and EU/US and nationalize the assets on Russian territory.
Though this may all be unnecessary – it is enough to execute the third point of demands – ban the sale of carbohydrates. This will of course land a significant blow to the European economy, but the reverse effect will be no less painful. Average Russians want to eat, and 40% of the budget is created thanks to raw material sales. Besides, Russia imports almost half of its meat.
As to the free funds, everything is not that simple either. Free funds (say, money from private pension funds) have already been let go to develop (or better said, for the payment of salaries and pensions) Crimea. Besides, the EBRD already refuses to cooperate with the Russian Federation.
Point five is the only one left: state defense with the increase of nuclear potential. What do we have in the end? North Korea 2.0 with a nuclear missile. A threat not only to the EU and the US but the entire world.
So who hasn’t left Russia yet? Hurry up or it might be too late.
