Russia captures Hornet AI drone that Ukraine uses to cut logistics 150 km behind front — without software that makes it work. Russian-language military channels have themselves acknowledged that Hornet strikes are inflicting systematic losses on Russian supply routes.

International

France's Macron warned Lukashenka not to drag Belarus into Russia's war. The call was the first since 26 February 2022. Minsk confirmed it took place at Paris's initiative — but the French presidency hasn't yet.

Trump announces 5,000 US troops to Poland — one week after US froze scheduled combat-team rotation and amid Russia's threat. Meanwhile, Russia began its nuclear drills in Belarus, bordering Poland.

Russia is "directing" Ukrainian drones into NATO territory, Estonian foreign minister says. The minister spoke ahead of an alliance foreign ministers meeting in Helsingborg, Sweden, where colleagues rejected Moscow's claims of Baltic complicity.

Humanitarian and social impact

Kyiv endures massive overnight aerial assault with widespread damage reported across 50 locations, at least 2 dead. Residential areas, schools, markets, and key cultural sites were damaged in an overnight attack.

Russian operators deliberately wound pensioners aged 83, 80, and 69, who can't escape their FPVs in Kherson Oblast. Russian drones wounded an 83-year-old man and killed a 64-year-old woman in her own home.

Russian operator saw funeral procession in Sumy on his screen and steered FPV drone into it, killing one person. A drone hit the bus carrying mourners the day after Ukraine's prosecutors released 11,000 cases of small-drone attacks on civilians.

Ukraine documents 11,000 Russian FPV attacks on civilians, including "double strikes" on same site after medics and firefighters arrive. The cumulative count rose from 2,427 in 2024 to 6,771 in 2025, and is already at 2,010 in the first four months of 2026.
