Ukraine will create an “Army of Robots” and an “Army of Electronic Warfare”, Digital Transformation Minister Mikhailo Fedorov said, according to UNIAN.

He did not provide any details regarding his claim, but taking into account the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation’s active project having a similar name, Army of Drones, one can assume that the ministry is going to raise funds on the platform UNITED24 in order to purchase robotic platforms and electronic warfare equipment for the Ukrainian military.

“We will build on our ideology – open market, transparency and maximizing the opportunity to attract entrepreneurs who have already created various products, know how to scale products,” Fedorov said.

Ukraine has a large number of domestic experimental robotic systems and electronic warfare equipment. However, the state often lacks funds and resources to scale up the production.

Last month, Defense Express reported that Ukraine’s Defense Ministry was urgently working to acquire over 10,000 unmanned ground vehicles from domestic robotics companies to meet critical military needs, handling resupply missions, providing remote firepower, and reducing troop casualties.

Fedorov also noted that the Digitization Ministry and the Ministry of Defense will jointly set up a group for the construction of fortifications, which will work 24/7 as an “operational headquarters” and coordinate the efforts of all authorities and the military in the construction ofdefense  structures.

“The plan is to introduce a reform to define areas of responsibility: on the first line of defense, the construction of fortifications is carried out by military units, on the second-third by Ukraine’s State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure  through the involvement of private contractors,” he noted.
