Netherlands commits €118 million in economic and humanitarian aid for Ukraine’s rebuilding efforts

The Netherlands announces a second comprehensive support package for Ukraine in 2023, allocating over €118 million for humanitarian needs and economic assistance. This includes €93 million for humanitarian aid, out of a government reserve of €2.5 billion for Ukrainian support this year.

  • €83 million is designated for the rebuilding and healthcare system, including medicine purchase and mobile hospital support.
  • An additional €10 million is for the mitigation of the Kahovka Dam bombing aftermath by Russia,
  • with the remaining €875,000 for Ukrainian human rights defenders.
  • The support package also involves €25 million to finance grants for businesses and NGOs aiding Ukraine’s recovery, particularly in agriculture, water supply, and healthcare.

Further financial aid will be provided for an unnamed Ukrainian company to establish a building materials factory in Ukraine’s west. The Dutch government is also considering risk insurance for companies exporting or investing in Ukraine.
