Opposition to the planned trip to Germany of Alexander Dugin, Kremlin loudspeaker and one of the most infamous rabble rousers in Russia, is also now rising in the German parliament. In a letter to the foreign minister, the member of parliament Volker Beck has demanded that the hothead, omnipresent in Moscow’s state media, be placed on the list of persons banned from the Schengen area.
Planned Stay of Aleksandr Gelyevich Dugin in Germany

It has come to my attention that Aleksandr Gelyevich Dugin is scheduled to participate in a meeting of the extreme right-wing newspaper Zuerst at an as yet unknown location in Germany (copy of the event flyer attached). Dugin is regarded as a leading figure in the fascist, neo-Eurasian movement in Russia; he has, however, at least throughout Europe foremost impact within right-wing extremist circles. He is known as an ideologue as well as an organizer of international networks of like-minded associates. In my view, he opposes understanding between peoples in his speeches and articles, for example when he – according to press reports – calls for the dissolution of Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Austria into a large empire.
On May 31, 2014, Dugin appeared at a secretly organized conference in Vienna, which was reported on in Austria and Germany, but also in the English-language press.
In my opinion, it is in the vital interest of the Federal Republic of Germany to prevent Dugin’s entry into the country. I therefore propose that Dugin be issued a refusal of entry and ask you to advocate that a visa not be granted to him either by the Federal Republic of Germany or another Schengen treaty state. Furthermore, it would be worth considering adding Mr. Dugin to the European Union sanctions list.
