Russian air system downed 16 drones in the evening of 27 March over Belgorod and Belgorod Oblast, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
There were reportedly no casualties.
According to Gladkov, the downed drones damaged 12 apartment buildings, healthcare facilities, a warehouse, and educational institutions.
In the Belgorod district, the wreckage of the downed drones damaged three apartments, the roof and fence in one private house, and one car.
Gladkov claimed Russian air defense downed Ukrainian drones.
Ukraine’s military has not confirmed this.
Belgorod Governor said earlier that starting 20 March, entry to seven settlements of Grayvoron district in Belgorod Oblast, Russia, will be restricted.
The authorities of Russia’s Belgorod Oblast earlier evacuated residents due to military actions of the coalition of Russian battalions – the Russian Freedom Legion (RFL), the Russian Volunteer Corps, and the Siberian Battalion, which entered the border territory of Russia on 12 March to liberate the “criminal dictatorial regime in the Russian Federation.”
According to Belgorod’s governor, some 9,000 children were evacuated from Belgorod and the border areas of the oblast.
