Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that starting 20 March, entry to seven settlements of Grayvoron district in Belgorod Oblast, Russia, will be restricted.
The authorities of Russia’s Belgorod Oblast earlier evacuated residents due to military actions of the coalition of Russian battalions – the Russian Freedom Legion (RFL), the Russian Volunteer Corps, and the Siberian Battalion, which entered the border territory of Russia on 12 March to liberate the “criminal dictatorial regime in the Russian Federation.”
There will reportedly be checkpoints at the entrances of the settlements, allowing residents to briefly enter their homes to feed animals.
Gladkov also announced the early start of spring holidays for schools in the regions bordering Ukraine and in Belgorod and the Yakovlev district.
According to Belgorod’s governor, some 9,000 children were evacuated from Belgorod and the border areas of the oblast.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on 20 March that five Ukrainian drones were destroyed over the Belgorod and Saratov oblasts overnight.
The Ukrainian military has not confirmed its responsibility for the attacks.
