Ukrainian ground robotic complexes (GRCs) on the front completed over 9,000 missions during March, both combat and logistical, according to Ukraine's Defense Ministry.

For comparison, about 2,900 missions were conducted in November 2025 and over 7,000 in January 2026.

Heavy versions of these ground systems can carry up to 500 kilograms of cargo and traverse tens of kilometers over rough terrain. Their functionality continues to expand: the platforms conduct logistics operations without risking human lives.

DELTA in action: digital control and coordination of GRCs

The Defense Forces are increasingly deploying GRCs to replace personnel in the riskiest parts of the front. Data from the DELTA combat system shows that since the beginning of the year, GRCs have completed roughly 32,500 missions.

GRCs are used for ammunition supply, cargo transport, and medical evacuation, thereby reducing personnel risks.

From individual units to mass deployment

The Ministry of Defense sees shifting frontline logistics to robotic platforms as a key priority. In March 2026, 167 units used GRCs, compared to just 67 in November 2025.

Frontline robots ranking: top units

The five units that deployed GRCs the most in March are:

  • 3rd Separate Assault Brigade
  • 1st Separate Medical Battalion
  • Unmanned Systems Company of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade
  • 95th Separate Airborne-Assault Polissya Brigade
  • 3rd Operational Purpose Brigade named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan “Spartan”

High-tech center: What soldier needs to be operator?

The operator station for ground drones resembles a high-tech command center. The pilots monitor, control, and maintain the system in real time, using batteries, charging stations, portable power units, and communication systems, including radios, antennas, and relay devices.

Operators are equipped with electronic warfare tools, repair kits, and tactical gear. Each ground platform is fitted with day and night cameras, communication systems, and data links, ensuring effective operation under any conditions.

Earlier, the Droid TW 12.7 unmanned ground system (UGS), operated by Ukrainian troops from the 3rd Assault Brigade, replaced an infantry position and held it for 1.5 months.
