While it may be too early to discuss the liberation of the Kinburn Spit, Ukrainian Defense Forces Spokesperson Serhii Bratchuk emphasized that such an operation is merely a matter of time and capability, according to UkrInform.
During a television broadcast, Bratchuk highlighted the Kinburn Spit’s strategic significance for resuming the functioning of the Mykolaiv port and crucial maritime trade corridors.
“The Kinburn Spit and the entire Mykolaiv Oblast must be liberated. It will enable the Mykolaiv port to function and connect with the ports of Odesa, facilitating our state’s export-import routes,” stated Bratchuk.

He noted that Russian forces are clinging to this location with tenacity, using it to exert pressure on the northwestern Black Sea.
“At the Kinburn Spit, the enemy is reinforcing its personnel and equipment, having dispatched several boats from the flotilla of temporarily occupied Crimea,” he claimed.
The decision to liberate Kinburn Spit depends on the capabilities and operational tasks of the Defense Forces.
“Decisions are made by higher command. We cannot say definitively that an offensive on the Kinburn Spit will occur today or tomorrow.
However, any action will be comprehensive and involve various means. The question of whether to liberate Kinburn is not in doubt; it is merely a matter of timing and aligning our resources and operational goals,” he explained.
He further clarified that the Defense Forces are preparing for the liberation of Kinburn Spit as a critical objective in southern Ukraine.
“The actions of the Ukraine’s forces regarding the Kinburn Spit are gradual, with ongoing combat operations. The primary goal is clear, but secret missions are also occurring to destroy enemy personnel and equipment to weaken their defenses in this area.
This location is pivotal for our advancement and the liberation of our territories,” Bratchuk noted.
Earlier, intelligence fighters conducted a raid on the Kinburn Spit and raised the Ukrainian flag there.
The Kinburn Sand Spit, located in Mykolaiv Oblast near Ochakiv, extends from the Kinburn Peninsula and partially separates the Black Sea from the Dnipro-Bug estuary.
