Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called Putin a "f***ing idiot" for clinging to imperial ambitions and advocated for Ukraine's NATO membership, critisizing the West’s current inaction in this regard.
"I don’t hear anyone saying that when this catastrophe ends, NATO membership should be the solution for Ukraine. I think that’s a big mistake," Johnson said.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna commented that Johnson's actions were entirely his own initiative and that he is well-informed about President Zelenskyy's and Ukrainian people’s position on the war.
A few weeks after the full-scale Russian invasion, there could have been a peaceful solution. This is the result of a draft agreement that both warring parties had negotiated until April 15, 2022. According to the document, Kyiv and Moscow largely agreed on conditions for an end to the war.
