Steve Komarnyckyj's literary translations and poems have appeared in Poetry Salzburg Review, The North, and Modern Poetry in Translation. His book of translations from the Ukrainian poet Pavlo Tychyna was published by Poetry Salzburg in 2011. His collection of translated poetry, A Flight Over the Black Sea, which was published by Waterloo Press in 2014, won an English PEN award. His most recent publication “Realm of Darkness” (Kalyna Language Press 1 September 2016) is a translation of a dystopian thriller set in 2077 by Ukrainian author Yuriy Shcherbak. Steve Komarnyckyj is the co director of Kalyna Language Press.
