During the night of 7 May 2026, Ukraine carried out strikes on a number of key Russian military assets, including a missile-carrying warship, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported. Also, the operation hit command posts and logistical infrastructure of the occupying forces.
“Kalibr”-armed missile ship struck in Dagestan
In particular, a multi-role small missile ship of Project 22800 “Karakurt,” capable of launching “Kalibr” cruise missiles, was struck in the area of its base in Kaspiysk, Dagestan. The extent of the damage is still being clarified.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to systematically target systems that enable enemy missile strikes.
Command posts in two oblasts simultaneously lose operational control
A Russian command post in Sosnivka, Luhansk Oblast, and a UAV command post in the area of Yasne, Donetsk Oblast, were also hit.
Rear ammunition and fuel depots removed from frontline supply chain
Separately, strikes were recorded on an ammunition depot in Kalmykivka and a fuel and lubricants storage site in the Smolianynove area of Luhansk Oblast. Concentrations of enemy personnel were also targeted in areas of Dersuove in Donetsk Oblast and Smilye in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
“The Defense Forces of Ukraine will continue to systematically strike enemy assets until the complete cessation of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. More to come! Glory to Ukraine!” the General Staff statement reads.
On 3 May, Ukrainian forces hit Russia's Karakurt-class missile corvette at Primorsk port, Russia's largest Baltic oil export terminal, when carrying its full load of eight Kalibr cruise missiles. The attack also hit a patrol boat, a shadow fleet tanker, and the terminal's infrastructure.
