The pro-Ukrainian partisan group ATESH said it damaged a power substation in the Russian city of Bryansk, claiming the attack disrupted facilities linked to Russia’s military logistics.
ATESH regularly conducts sabotage operations inside Russian and occupied territory, focusing on infrastructure tied to Moscow’s military operations. The group says its goal is to disrupt logistics, fuel supplies, and equipment movement to slow Russia’s war effort in Ukraine.
Substation powers military infrastructure, group says
In a statement, ATESH said one of its agents sabotaged equipment at an electrical substation in the Volodarsky district of Bryansk, in an industrial area near the settlement of Bolshoye Polpino.
According to the group, the substation supplies electricity to infrastructure used by Russia’s armed forces, including a railway station through which ammunition and military equipment are transported toward the front line.
Claimed impact on railways and fuel storage
ATESH said the power outage caused failures in railway systems and delays in military shipments. It also claimed the substation provides electricity to local industrial enterprises working for Russia’s defense ministry.
The group added that fuel storage facilities in the area were affected, saying the loss of power disrupted pumping systems and safety controls.
ATESH said it is targeting what it described as weak points in Russia’s rear infrastructure in an effort to disrupt military operations.
The claims could not be independently verified.
Bryansk is a Russian city about 50 kilometers north of Ukraine. While the border here is not an active frontline, Russian forces frequently launch attacks across it into Ukrainian territory.
