President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he expects the United States and Europe to speed up delivery of aid packages to Ukraine following the latest massive Russian strikes, and that such an agreement already exists.
The Ukrainian president wrote in his social media that Russia deployed over 300 strike drones, 18 ballistic missiles, and 7 cruise missiles during the night of 13 January. Ukrainian energy infrastructure was the primary target of the attacks.
"Every such Russian strike must be a reminder that support for Ukraine cannot be stopped," Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized the daily need for air defense missiles, particularly during winter months. "The world can respond to this Russian terror with new aid packages to Ukraine. We expect acceleration of deliveries of what has already been agreed with America and Europe. Russia must understand that cold will not help win the war," the president said.
The strikes caused destruction in Kyiv Oblast, with fires breaking out in residential areas and industrial facilities. Emergency power outages were implemented in three districts.
In Kharkiv's suburbs, the combined Russian attack with missiles and drones killed four civilians and injured six others with varying degrees of severity.
