Ukraine hit by 600 drones and 36 missiles overnight: 3 killed, dozens injured across multiple regions

Three people were killed and dozens injured in a combined Russian strike on Ukraine during the night and morning of 29 November, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported via Telegram.

The Russians launched about 36 missiles and nearly 600 drones. The main targets of the attack were energy infrastructure and civilian objects, with many damages and fires in residential buildings, Zelenskyy said.

In Kyiv, two people died and 29 were injured, according to mayor Vitaliy Klitschko. The body of one man was recovered from a location in Sviatoshyn district. Fires broke out in Holosiivskyi, Solomianski, and Darnytskyi districts after debris fell on residential and non-residential buildings and open areas. In Darnytskyi district, missile debris fell in the courtyard of a nine-story building, causing a fire on the sixth floor.

Another multi-story building was damaged in Brovary district of Kyiv Oblast, where the ceiling between the eighth and ninth floors was destroyed. Authorities evacuated 52 people from the building, including three children. Six apartment buildings were damaged in the district, along with private houses, more than 20 garages, vehicles, and a shopping center building.

At least two people were wounded in Kyiv Oblast, where damage was recorded in five districts, reported Mykola Kalashnyk, head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration. Both injured were women from Brovary: a woman born in 1959 with lacerations was hospitalized, while a woman born in 1975 received medical assistance on site for a leg wound.

The city of Fastiv lost electricity. Critical infrastructure switched to backup power, while water supply, sewage, gas supply, and communications systems continued operating. Invincibility Points were prepared to provide heating and assistance.

Western parts of the capital were left without electricity, Klitschko reported. Water pressure in the water supply systems dropped in residential buildings on the right bank. Debris also fell in Obolonsky district on open territory.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Russian forces attacked three districts overnight with drones and artillery, according to acting head of the regional military administration Vladyslav Haivanenko. An 83-year-old woman was wounded in Troitska community of Pavlohrad district. One private house was partially destroyed and five others damaged. A gas pipeline and power line were affected. An infrastructure facility was damaged in Dnipro district, where a fire was extinguished by rescuers. Air defense forces shot down 12 drones over the region between evening and morning.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast came under 341 strikes on 21 settlements on 28 November, regional head Ivan Fedorov said. Russian forces conducted 8 airstrikes, attacked with 150 drones of various modifications (mostly FPV), fired 4 times from multiple rocket launchers, and carried out 179 artillery strikes. No casualties were reported. Authorities received 70 reports of damage to housing, equipment, and infrastructure.

Residents of Slavutych were left without electricity due to damage to an energy facility.

Zelenskyy emphasized the need for intensified efforts "so there are enough missiles for air defense systems, so there is everything necessary for our defense and for pressure on Russia."

The president called for European action on frozen Russian assets. "The time has come for Europe to make decisions regarding frozen assets if Moscow does not want to abandon drone and missile strikes. And we definitely need to talk with all partners about steps to end this war. Thank you to everyone who helps," Zelenskyy concluded.

Power consumption restrictions will be in effect in all regions on 29 November due to the consequences of Russian attacks on energy facilities.
