Flames have swallowed a transformer feeding one of Russia's biggest frontline arsenals. The pro-Ukrainian partisan movement ATESH reported disabling a substation in Russia's Voronezh Oblast.
ATESH partisans have conducted sabotage and intelligence operations inside Russia since the first days of the full-scale war. The group targets military logistics, equipment, and troop movements, aiming to disrupt Russian supply chains and slow operations on the frontlines.
Sparks at Stakhanovsky cut current to Moscow's shell pipeline
Near the settlement of Stakhanovsky, partisans set fire to and seriously damaged a transformer at the substation that powered military unit 42706 — the GRAU Arsenal, as well as the 1060th Materiel and Technical Support Center of the Russian Armed Forces.
"It is through these facilities that the accumulation and distribution of shells, weapons, and equipment passes for units operating near the border and directly on the front line," the movement said.
Darkness falls over shell depot as loading cranes grind to halt
As a result of the arson, the substation equipment failed, resulting in a complete power outage at both facilities.
The GRAU Arsenal and the 1060th support center were left without a stable electricity supply. Loading equipment stopped working, storage systems went down, and internal logistics were disrupted. Ammunition and materiel deliveries to the front line were frozen.
Partisans carve out Russian military arteries
Depots and supply centers are the circulatory system of an army.
Without stable infrastructure, the supply chain breaks down, delaying shipments, leading to units receiving insufficient ammunition and a drop in combat capability. ATESH continues to methodically knock out the pillars of this system.
Previously, the group said it carried out a series of sabotage operations in Russia’s Novgorod Oblast, targeting electronic warfare infrastructure. Three telecommunications towers equipped with EW antennas were set on fire in areas near Valdai, Demyansk, and Okhvat.
