The DeepState analytical project reports that Russian forces captured Levadne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast on 26 October while also advancing near several settlements, including Shakhtarske, Novoukrainka, and Bohoiavlenka in Donetsk Oblast, Novodarivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast.
Russia has intensified its advancement on the Ukrainian frontline in an attempt to secure territorial gains before winter sets in. This offensive push may also “improve” Russia’s negotiating position in future peace talks.
“The enemy has occupied Levadne and advanced near Shakhtarske, Novoukrainka, Bohoiavlenka, Novodarivka, Stelmakhivka, in Hirnyk and Oleksandropil,” DeepState reports.
According to the project, before the capture, Russian forces attempted an assault near Shakhtarske using both armor and infantry.
“Afternoon, a column of 8 pieces of military equipment reached the village and tried to break through to Velyka Novosilka. One armored vehicle was hit, and the rest retreated,” DeepState states.
According to the report, by evening, a column of 15+ pieces of military equipment was already split up in Zolota Nyva.
“Part tried to break through to Velyka Novosilka but decided to retreat after the first vehicle was destroyed. The fate of the other part of the column is unknown,” Deep State reported.
In Bohoiavlenka, several kilometers from Shakhtarske, DeepState reports that on 25 October, Russian forces deployed infantry near a farm west of the village, with fighting continuing until nightfall.
