Sweden is providing about $4.8 million to NATO's Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) Trust Fund for Ukraine to procure military aid to Ukraine, the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine said in its post on the X/Twitter.
"The Swedish government will provide 50 million SEK to the NATO assistance fund for Ukraine. This assistance will be used for procurement of military equipment, medicines, fuel, demining, and personnel training," the post reads. The Swedish Government says the funds will be used "for projects already decided but lacking funding." Since the outset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Sweden has stood as a steadfast supporter of Ukraine, providing weapons and supporting Ukraine's economy. Earlier in mid-December, Denmark and Sweden decided to jointly finance the donation and production of additional CV90 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) for Ukraine, following Ukraine’s request for more of these vehicles after Sweden had already donated 50 CV90s.
In December, Eight Archer artillery systems provided by the Swedish government were delivered to Ukraine, with four more being on the way.
