Ukrainian investigators uncover widespread human rights violations by Russian troops in Kyiv Oblast

Ukrainian prosecutors have revealed that 1,139 Ukrainians have become victims of Russian soldiers and have been subjected to torture by invaders during the invasion of Kyiv Oblast in 2022.

Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale attack on Ukraine, the prosecutors have investigated a total of 12,456 criminal cases classified as war crimes under Article 438 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.

Inhumane treatment towards the civilian population, forced labor, illegal detention, and the looting of national treasures are among those crimes.

Furthermore, the investigation has found that 203 civilians in the Kyiv Oblast were kidnapped, detained, and deported by the Russian military.

Earlier, UK Intelligence said Russia used education as a propaganda tool in occupied territories of Ukraine.

In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the occupation administration received instructions from Russia regarding introducing new standards for the accreditation of educational institutions and engaged journalists to report fake news in those territories.
