On the morning of 25 October and on the previous day, the Russian forces conducted multiple fire attacks on localities in several Ukrainian regions, employing various weapons from grenade launchers and artillery guns to one-way attack drones, missiles, and air bombs.
Four regions saw civilian casualties from the Russian strikes. An aerial bomb strike killed a local man in Kherson’s Beryslav in the morning, with four more civilians injured in the region on the previous day. Two men died as Russian artillery attacked a village in Kharkiv Oblast on 24 October. On the same day, Donetsk Oblast saw one person injured, and the authorities also discovered the bodies of two civilians killed earlier.
Overnight into 25 October, Russians launched 11 Shahed-136/131 one-way attack drones from the southeast, namely Russia’s Primorsko-Akhtarsk, which triggered air raid alerts in southern, central, and western regions. Ukraine’s Air Force Command says the country’s air defenders destroyed all 11 targets.
The attack injured 16 civilians in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, according to authorities.

Kherson
In his roundup of the situation in Kherson Oblast, the oblast’s Military Administration Head Oleksandr Prokudin reported that Russian fire attacks injured four local residents on 24 October. According to the regional leader, the Russian troops shelled residential areas of the region’s settlements, and also hit the premises and a building of a factory in Beryslav district.
In Kherson Oblast, the frontline runs along the Dnipro River, separating the warring parties from large-scale direct contact. However, Russians carry out multiple fire attacks on the Ukrainian positions and civilian infrastructure in the region, widely employing gliding air bombs and artillery.
Prokudin says Russia has carried out 86 attacks on the region that day, “launching 389 munitions from mortars, artillery, Grad [multiple rocket launchers], tanks, aircraft, and UAVs. The enemy fired six shells at the city of Kherson.”
“After 22:00 [on 24 October], the enemy launched 13 guided bombs. A rescue operation is underway at the site of one of the landings. There are probably people under the rubble,” the oblast head added in the next update on the morning of 25 October.
In the early hours and the morning of 25 October, Russian forces continued attacks on the region’s settlements, employing “various types of weapons,” Prokudin says.
According to Prokudin, Russia conducted 35 KAB gliding bomb strikes in Kherson Oblast over 24 hours between 6 a.m. on 24 and 25 October. Additionally, there reportedly was a missile attack and an air attack with Shahed explosive drones.
Meanwhile, the Kherson Oblast Head says, a morning Russian strike on the town of Beryslav killed a local resident.
“At about 07:20, the enemy dropped a guided aerial bomb on a residential area of the city. They hit a house. Unfortunately, a 42-year-old man was fatally wounded,” Prokudin wrote.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs updated that the Russian air strike completely destroyed a residential building in Beryslav as its owner was trapped under the rubble. The rescuers managed to get the man out of the rubble, but “he sustained injuries incompatible with life.”
Donetsk Oblast
The acting Donetsk Oblast Head, Ihor Moroz, says multiple Russian fire attacks on the region’s settlements on 24 October injured one local resident in Soloviove village.
“In addition, information about two civilians in Stepove who had been killed earlier was found,” Moroz added.
According to official infographics, the number of civilian fatalities in Donetsk Oblast stands at 1,753 as of 25 October, with 4,274 civilians wounded. The regional leader notes that the figures of officially registered civilian casualties from Russian aggression do not include fatalities and injuries in Mariupol and Volnovakha, two cities overrun early in the all-out war after Russia’s relentless artillery and air attacks that saw an extremely high rate of civilian deaths but remain under Russian occupation to this day, which complicates the attempts to count the victims of Russian aggression in them.
Donetsk Oblast, divided by the frontline, remains the hottest spot of the front, with war zone settlements often seeing Russian fire strikes. Acting Oblast Head Moroz shared the official statistics of the Russian attacks on 24 October and the damage they caused.
According to him, one civilian was wounded and 24 residential houses were damaged in the Russian attacks, employing a wide range of weapons, including missiles, drones, air-launched munitions, artillery, and grenade launchers.

- Donetsk Sector:
- Solovyove, Ocheretyne Community: 1 person was wounded.
- Mariinka Sector (Novomykhailivka, Antonivka, Paraskoviivka): Areas came under fire.
- Avdiivka: Suffered massive artillery fire in the morning.
- Hirnyk, Kurakhove Community: Endured two air strikes.
- Horlivka Sector:
- Markove, Kostyantynivka Community: 3 houses and 1 shop were damaged.
- Chasiv Yar Community: 2 multi-storey buildings and 1 private house were damaged.
- Soledar Community (Razdolivka, Vasyukivka, Minkivka): Areas came under fire.
- Druzhba, Toretsk TG: 1 house was damaged.
- Lysychansk Sector (Parts of Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts):
- Lyman: 15 houses were damaged.
- Siversk: 2 houses and 1 non-residential building were damaged.
Kharkiv
Fighting continued on the Luhansk-Kharkiv front, with Russian efforts focused on attempts to capture Kupiansk, a major transportation hub in Kharkiv Oblast.
Kharkiv Oblast Head Oleh Syniehubov says 24 October saw Russian shelling attacks on the settlements in the districts of Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Kupiansk, and Izium.
- Russian artillery shelling on 24 October killed two civilian men, aged 57 and 50, in the village of Podoly, located within the Kupiansk district. The intense shelling also resulted in damage to a detached house, various outbuildings, and two cars.
- On the night of 24 October, specifically after 23:00, Borova village in the Izium district endured an attack from the Russian forces utilizing Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS). As of the initial reports, there were no casualties documented.
- In addition to these strikes, a number of other localities experienced the Russian fire attack on 24 October, including Pletenivka in Chuhuiv district, Kozacha Lopan in Kharkiv district, as well as Chuhunivka, Dvorichna, and Petropavlivka within the Kupiansk district, according to Syniehubov.
The oblast leader says the active hostilities continue in the Kupiansk sector of the front, where the Ukrainian troops repelled 10 Russian attacks next to Synkivka and Ivanivka on 24 October.
“The enemy is not advancing and suffers losses,” Syniehubov stated.
Khmelnytskyi
Last night, Russia targeted Khmelnytsky Oblast with Shahed drones for the fourth day in a row, according to the Khmelnytsky Regional Military Administration. The assault targeted a critical infrastructure facility in the Shepetivka district, resulting in 16 injuries.

The authorities of other regions reported that the Russian fire attacks damaged civilian infrastructure but did not hurt any civilians.
Zaporizhzhia
Zaporizhzhia is another Ukrainian region with the frontline dividing it into two parts, with multiple settlements being within the war zone.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast’s top official Yurii Malashko says Russians carried out 181 strikes targeting 21 localities on 24 October, which resulted in 19 reports of destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure facilities.
“157 artillery strikes targeted Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Malynivka, Bilohiria, Levadne, Shcherbaky, Poltavka, Kamianske, Stepove, Pyatikhatky and other frontline towns and villages,” Malashko wrote.
Oblast Head Malashko reported that the Russian troops executed two missile attacks targeting Zaporizhzhia City, while also unleashing 14 UAV assaults on various locations, including Novodarivka, Mala Tokmachka, Chervarne, Malynivka, Chervone, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, and Kamianske.
Additionally, the Russians subjected Robotyne, Novodarivka, and Mala Tokmachka to seven MLRS barrages. Notably, Novodanylivka was struck by an air-launched munition, as per Malashko.
Dnipro
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Administration Head Serhii Lysak says Overnight into 25 October, at midnight, Russian troops attacked Nikopol district with artillery as half a dozen shells hit the community of Marhanets.
Mykolaiv
Mykolaiv Oblast Head Vitalii Kim reported that Russian artillery shells landed two times in the waters of Ochakiv community, situated on the Black Sea coast on 24 October.
Also, the Air Command South’s units destroyed two Shahed-131/136 attack drones in Mykolaiv Oblast overnight into 25 October.
Luhansk
According to Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, Nevske and Serebrianske Forestry saw Russian air bomb strikes on 24 October. Russians hit Nevske with six KAB-500 gliding bombs, completely destroying two homes in the village, and further damaging other households hit in previous attacks. Russian artillery and mortar attacks targeted Nevske and Bilohorivka.
Hostilities resumed in Luhansk’s Makiivka area and near Nadiia, where Russians continued their ground assaults, but “all these attempts were repelled by our military yesterday,” the Administration says.
Sumy
Ukraine’s northeastern region of Sumy did not see action since last spring, however the Russian forces continue sporadic cross-border attacks on the oblast’s communities.
The Sumy Oblast authorities reported another instance of such attack that occurred on 24 October.
“In the morning, Russians fired on the Velykopysarivka community. There were 25 explosions from AGS [automatic grenade launcher],” the Administration says.
The Russian aggression continues with multiple daily attacks, often targeting residential areas and causing civilian casualties.
