On the evening of 29 July, Russian forces launched a missile attack on Sumy, northeastern Ukraine, killing one civilian and wounding at least five.

The missile hit the building of an educational institution, Police office of Sumy Oblast reported. The nearby Orthodox church was also damaged.
According to Sumy Oblast Military Administration, Russian troops carried out 25 shellings in Sumy Oblast over the past 24 hours, 122 explosions were recorded.
