The Parliament of Bulgaria approved the transfer of about a hundred armored personnel carriers to Ukraine with the expectation of receiving armored vehicles from the United States as a replacement.
This was reported by the Bulgarian media BGNES. The APCs will be transferred from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bulgaria warehouses.
"We must give armored personnel carriers to Ukraine because Ukrainians are fighting not only for their freedom but also for ours," said MP Ivaylo Mirchev.
However, opinions regarding the transfer of equipment were divided. Some MPs condemned the transfer saying that the APCs are old.
Bulgaria could potentially receive M1117 armored personnel carriers from the United States as a replacement.
