The US President Joe Biden and IUkraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discuss the delivery of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine, according to Jake Sullivan, the United States national security advisor to President Joe Biden.
Joe Biden is considering providing Ukraine with long-range missiles. Still, the decision regarding the supply of ATACMS missiles has not yet been made, Jake Sullivan said during the Aspen Institute's annual security forum.
The US will start training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets within "a matter of weeks," according to Jake Sullivan.
The US is ready to take risks in supplying new weapons to Ukraine, Sullivan said. The American government strives to help Ukraine and is not seeking to change the Russian government, Sullivan added.
The MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) is a tactical ballistic missile manufactured by the US defense company Lockheed Martin. It has a range of up to 300 kilometers.
