European Parliament VP: Germany and France ‘sacrificed Ukraine’ for own national economic interests

In what Vladimir Putin may see as an additional benefit and others as collateral damage, the Minsk agreements have deepened splits within the European Union, with European Parliament Vice President Ryszard Czarnecki saying that the German and French leaders “sacrificed” Ukraine at Munich for the economic interests of their own countries.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande, “without the participation of the EU and promoting the economic interests of their own countries, have sacrificed Ukraine,” Czarnecki says, legitimizing Russia’s “achievements” and creating a world more beneficial to Moscow than to Kyiv.

In other comments, the Polish and European politician says that it is unfortunately the case that some European countries “would like to have peace at any price,” something they may have achieved in the short run by their concessions at Minsk but not something that is likely to last for long.

On the one hand, Czarnecki says, the pro-Moscow militants in southeastern Ukraine with continuing Russian backing are likely to try to seize even more territory and undermine Ukrainian statehood. And on the other, Kyiv will have no choice but to try to block them whatever the Minsk accords say.

By insisting on the negotiating arrangements in Minsk, Putin not only excluded the US, legitimated his agents in Ukraine, but has divided Europe still further, an amazing Russian achievement but one that the leaders of Germany and France in large measure facilitated, something that Ukrainians and all people of good will should never forget.

In September there was a ceasefire agreement which was never respected ! Who´s fault was it ? the french, the german, the ukrainian. Who has had nice morning´s times in shooting buses and kinder gardens, and even lately hospitals and ambulances vehicles ? How many deads, how many dead children ?
Some European countries would like to have peace at any price ! How many European countries want to have “NO PEACE ”
I qualify this article as hypocrisy russian style ! Article which will be deligthfull for the fuhrers lpr/dpr to read ! And make putin´s day ! BRAVO !

When BOTH sides place their artillery in villages and cities their will be ALWAYS civilian casualties. The only solution is not making war.
Ukraine seems to forget that 40% of Ukranians are ethnic Russian. So if Kiev wants to keep Donbass they’ll have to make peace with the Russian speaking part of the country and not talking about them as SUBHUMANS as I have seen on Ukranian television myself.
If not, you’ll have to split up your country but don’t think in the west we will go to war for you. You started the fire, you’ll have to put it out yourself. Don’t burn your fingers!

According to the 2001 census, Ukraine’s population is 77.8% ethnic Ukrainian and 67.5 native Ukrainian speaking. Less than 20% consider themselves ethnic Russian.

Let’s not forget that Strelkov/Girkin admitted he was instructed by Putin to go to east Ukraine and overtake their public buildings, plunk down the Russian flag, and claim Ukraine’s territory as theirs! What fools! They are the ones who fanned the flames of separation, division, hatred for west Ukraine, and all the rest of Putin’s false political propaganda dished out to the unthinking masses. Putin pours $300 Million into his Russia media propaganda machine which spouts DISINFORMATION 24/7 over the internet, the news sources and beyond.

Poroshenko owns a channel himself, and of course he doesn’t want to sell it…lol. Which country has a “Ministery of truth”?
But of course, if someone gives another point of view, that’s DESINFORMATION. But I understand, if you are a Canadian of Ukranian origin (one of those 4% of Canadians) it is difficult to accept another point of view, isn’t it? . You don’t have to search for the truth, because you know it in advance.
By the way, why have all those Ukranians immigrated to Canada if their country was so fantastic? 😉

Czarnecki is speaking the truth. The EU and US should have been in the discussion at the Minsk negotiation.

What has the US to do here? This is EUROPE. You want to become as Yougoslavia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya or Syria? Yes? Good luck and call the GI’s!

      • StumpedNoMore2

The US is about the only one who is going to arming Ukraine so it should be involved. Yet, Russia said it is involved in the conflict but it is at the negotiation table. If you’re going to troll please do a better job at man.

I think the EU needs to understand the true meaning of the old Roman saying “si vis pacem, para bellum” – if you want peace, prepare for war.

“Peace at any price” led to the second world war and will undoubtedly lead to more wars in the future.

Czarnecki and Tusk are Russian haters and warmongers. And Ukranains should better , just as Germany and France, think about economy too. We in the West say, Ukraine solve your problems yourself. Your economy is not existing because of your corruption. Yes all of you. It is easy to say that all that is the fault of Russia. Please, begin with paying your gasbill. We’ll never let you in the EC to pay your debts and we don’t want you in Nato to wage your wars. If you want to fight Russia, ok do it yourself and let the rest of Europe in peace.

Now that’s the ultimate in shortsightedness! Due to Pootie’s proxy war against Ukraine, it is costing Kyiv $8 million $$$$ per day to finance that war.
I find it so ironic that Putin does a LAND GRAB of Crimea from Ukraine thus stealing its resources which are worth trillions, and THEN Pootie has the gall to demand payment of a gas bill! Make Putin pay COMPENSATION for his theft first, say $2 Trillion will do, and then Ukraine can deduct its gas bill due and still have plenty left over for next year. Fair is fair!

As I said, Ukraine has to help itself. We will not pay a single euro for such a corrupt country and surely not fight for it. Maybe come back in 10 years when your corruption problem is solved.
Yatsenyouk wants to double the expends for the army (with IMF monney he will have to pay back), while his people lives in poor houses, with little pensions, not affordable gas prices, industry in ruins, bad roads, a lot of prostitution, drugs and one of the highest HIV infection rates in the world. He will sell all factories to the private sector, so that more people will lose their job.
Not to forget the nazi-problem. We saw it already on tv during the European championship soccer some years ago; all that nazi skinhead scum.
