Lithuania’s Ministry of National Defense and the Lithuanian Armed Forces continue their steadfast military support for Ukraine, with the latest delivery of aid reaching Ukrainian forces on 15 December. This assistance highlights Lithuania’s commitment to Ukraine’s defense amid Russia’s ongoing invasion.

The shipment includes several million rounds of ammunition and thousands of munitions for man-portable, short-range anti-tank grenade launchers, a significant boost to Ukraine’s defensive capabilities. In addition to ammunition, about a thousand foldable cots were also provided, underlining the comprehensive nature of the support.

Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas emphasized Lithuania’s responsiveness to Ukraine’s needs: “We hear the urgent requests of Ukraine and continue our support according to the expressed needs. We actively encourage our allies to do the same,” showcasing Lithuania’s role as a proactive supporter and an advocate for international solidarity with Ukraine.

Beyond the supply of military equipment, Lithuania’s support extends to training Ukrainian soldiers, providing medical treatment and rehabilitation, and engaging in expert consultations. This multifaceted approach demonstrates Lithuania’s dedication not only to Ukraine’s immediate military needs but also to the long-term well-being of its forces.

Furthermore, Lithuania has established a long-term support strategy, earmarking a €200 million military aid package for Ukraine for 2024-2026.
