The President’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) Yuriy Miroshnichenko alleged that resolving the political crisis Ukraine within a forceful scenario is not considered. He stated this during a broadcast of the “Freedom of speech” program at ICTV.
“By the way, the President said at our meeting (with the Party of Regions fraction): “We have real opportunities to clear the administrative buildings and even Maidan in a forceful manner”. But he also said: “I would never let this happen because they are also our citizens”…” – the MP cited Yanukovych. “That’s why the forceful scenario is not considered,” – Miroshnichenko pointed out.
“We talked too much last week, and the week before, about an emergency state. It will not be introduced,” – he emphasized. “The President said: “If politicians cannot make arrangements, reach a common decision and fulfill it, then we have only one democratic way of solving this situation and that is pre-term elections (for changing the Constitution, pre-term parliamentary and presidential elections),” – stated Miroshnichenko. “And he (Yanukovych) said: “You will go to the pre-term elections and I will go to the pre-term elections”.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada had adopted the bill for amnesty of protesters of Yuriy Miroshnichenko’s preparation. 232 MPs gave their votes for it. The Svoboda leader Oleh Tyahnybok stated that the voting was passed with violation of the regulations and that Maidan would not abide by this law. At the same time MP Inna Bogoslovska considered that the amnesty law was passed so that “the authorities got a chance to rest, regroup their forces, and execute the forceful scenario”.
