Ukrainian security and defense units carried out a series of coordinated strikes on Russian troop locations and ammunition storage sites in occupied parts of the Luhansk region, according to the Security Service of Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials say such strikes are part of a sustained effort to reduce Russian manpower and logistics capacity in occupied territories, where Moscow continues to rely on dispersed bases and rear-area storage sites to support frontline operations.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said on 28 April that its Donetsk and Luhansk regional directorate worked alongside Ukraine’s defense forces and border guard units to identify and target Russian positions over the past month.
Troop bases and storage sites targeted in multiple locations
According to the statement, strikes hit buildings used to house Russian personnel in Luhansk, Bilovodsk, and the village of Shulgynka in the Starobilsk district.
Additional targets were struck in the Rudove area of the Svatove region, where Ukrainian forces say concentrations of Russian troops and ammunition depots were destroyed.
The SBU said all targets were identified and verified by its personnel before coordinates were passed to strike units.
Drone strikes used in precision operations
Precision attacks were carried out using FP-2 unmanned aerial systems produced by Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, along with other domestically developed strike platforms operated by Ukraine’s Armed Forces and State Border Guard Service.
The operation involved coordination with Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces and border units, reflecting the continued integration of intelligence-driven targeting with drone-based strike capabilities.
The SBU added that it will continue to work with defense units to identify and strike Russian military infrastructure in occupied regions.
