Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has announced that the upcoming round of trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, TASS reports.
This marks the first time the talks will take place in a European country. Previous trilateral meetings were held in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates.
The announcement comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the next round of negotiations was expected to take place in the US. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine immediately agreed to meet in Miami, while Russia was still "hesitating" about whether to hold the meeting in the US or Abu Dhabi.
"We are ready, it makes no difference to us — whether to meet in Miami or Abu Dhabi. The main thing is that there be a result," Zelenskyy said.
