The Southeast European Cooperative Initiative (SECI) has delivered 300 generators to Ukraine, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development reports. The equipment will be distributed among six cities: Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Sumy, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa.
The generators will be installed in hospitals, maternity wards, kindergartens, schools, and other social facilities. The total value of the equipment exceeds 417,000 euros ($437,000), with a combined capacity of 1,650 kW.
According to the ministry, the distribution prioritizes Ukrainian cities most affected by Russian strikes on energy infrastructure. Kyiv will receive 100 units, Lviv 10, Sumy 50, Kherson 40, Mykolaiv 50, Odesa 50.
The ministry notes that SECI is providing this equipment to help residents of front-line territories endure the winter period under Russian aggression.
SECI is a regional initiative of 29 countries, established by the United States and the European Union in 1996. The organization works on economic strategies and cross-border cooperation projects in infrastructure, trade, transport, security, and energy.
