The initial shipment of generators sent by Poland's Government Agency for Strategic Reserves has arrived in Kyiv, the Polish Embassy in Ukraine announced on X.
"The first batch of generators, sent by the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves of Poland, is already in Kyiv," the embassy said.
Poland's Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine Piotr Lukasiewicz officially handed over the equipment on Thursday to Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba and Kyiv Oblast Governor Mykola Kalashnik.
"Thanks to the swift decisions of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister Marcin Kierwiński, this extremely necessary equipment for the residents of Kyiv and the region is arriving on time. Where there is need, there is Polish solidarity," the embassy message reads.
Lukasiewicz had previously announced that Poland would transfer 400 generators to Kyiv and surrounding communities.
Media reported on 23 Jnauary, following a decision by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, 379 electricity generators and 18 heaters from the State Agency for Strategic Reserves would be delivered to Ukraine in the coming days.
