A new round of trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia regarding a potential end to the war concluded in the United Arab Emirates on 24 January, according to Diana Davityan, spokesperson for National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, European Pravda reports.

Presidential advisor Dmytro Lytvyn stated that the delegation is expected to report to the president on how the negotiations proceeded.

The talks began in the UAE on 23 January and were initially planned to continue through 24 January. Umerov said the meeting on 23 January addressed parameters for ending the war and "further logic" of the negotiation process.

Before the negotiations started, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia insists on the withdrawal of Ukrainian Armed Forces from Donbas, calling it an important condition for talks on ending the war.

A source told Russian state news agency TASS that "it cannot be said that the meeting on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi passed without results, there are some." The same source indicated that dialogue in the trilateral format "may be continued in the coming days."

Reuters reported, citing a UAE government representative, that the Ukraine negotiations in Abu Dhabi took place "in a constructive and positive atmosphere."

The talks mark the latest diplomatic effort to find a path toward resolving the conflict, with all three parties participating in the UAE-hosted discussions.
