In the Krasnodar region, it appears that drones struck an oil refinery. Thousands of Russians were left without power after the UAV attack.
On the night of 17 December, drones attacked Sloviansk-on-Kuban in Russia's Krasnodar Oblast, with the local oil refinery reportedly among the targets.
The Operational Headquarters of Krasnodar Krai confirmed the attack on the city. Drone debris was found in the private sector of Sloviansk-on-Kuban and in the settlement of Pribrezhny, according to the headquarters. Some houses sustained roof damage and broken windows, and two people were injured.
Ukrainian OSINT project Exilenova claims the local oil refinery in Sloviansk-on-Kuban was hit during the attack.
The regional operational headquarters also reported damage to high-voltage power lines in the Sloviansk district due to the drone strike. The incident temporarily left 38,800 people without electricity.
Russia's Ministry of Defense, meanwhile, claimed to have shot down 94 drones.
