Two civilians were killed on Monday after a Russian guided aerial bomb hit a small store in the Velyka Pysarivka community of Sumy Oblast, local authorities said.
This strike is part of Russia’s continued attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine’s border regions. Sumy communities near the frontier are hit almost daily by guided bombs, artillery, and drones, causing regular casualties and damage far from the main combat zones.
Rescue workers recover bodies from debris
Local officials reported that the strike hit the building at a moment when customers and staff were inside. Emergency workers later recovered the bodies of a shop clerk and a resident from under the debris.
Another clerk survived, while two more people were injured, including a woman taken to hospital for treatment.

Regional administration head Oleh Hryhorov condemned the strike, saying Russia hit a location that should have been safe for civilians.
Rescue teams continue clearing the site as authorities document the incident.
