Ukrainian military analysts DeepState reported on 24 September that Russian forces occupied the villages of Novomykolaivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and Novoivanivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, marking continued territorial gains for Moscow's forces across multiple fronts.
The Russian army also advanced near Katerynivka, Kalynivka, Ternove and Novoivanivka, according to the DeepState .
The territorial losses represent part of a broader pattern of Russian advances documented by DeepState over recent days. On 23 September, the project published new maps showing Russian forces had gained ground in both Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, with Interfax-Ukraine reporting that Russian forces captured 8.77 square kilometers of territory in the previous 24-hour period.
The developments follow mixed battlefield results for Ukrainian forces. On 22 September, Ukrainian Defense Forces reclaimed 1.3 square kilometers of territory in the Dobropillia direction of Donetsk Oblast that had previously been occupied by Russian troops.
On 20 September, DeepState had documented Russian advances across three directions, including positions in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and Donetsk Oblast.
The DeepState project operates as an open-source intelligence platform that tracks military operations through interactive mapping, providing regular updates on frontline positions and territorial control changes throughout the conflict.
