Russian sources report Ukrainian drone attacks on two Russian distilleries in Voronezh Oblast

Russian officials report a series of Ukrainian drone attacks on industrial facilities in Voronezh Oblast, with local residents saying that distilleries are burning.

Attacks on distilleries disrupt Russian military capabilities and logistics, especially for aviation. They use alcohol for fuel to brake systems, liquids for technical needs, cleaning, and anti-icing agents for both airplanes and rotorcraft, according to the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko.

Ukrainian drones targeted a distillery in the Krasnoye village, Voronezh Oblast, for the second time this month. Voronezh Oblast is located near Kursk and Belgorod oblasts and also borders Ukraine.

Local residents shared videos showing at least two drone explosions near the “Ethanol Spirit” facility, according to Russian Telegram channel Astra.

Governor Alexander Gusev confirmed damage to two industrial sites in the region, however he didn’t specify what these sites were. At the Krasnoye facility, Gusev said that a utility building’s roof and a storage tank sustained damage, though no fire was reported.

Previously, the “Ethanol Spirit” facility in Krasnoye village was attacked on the night of 22 October along with three other distilleries in Tula and Tambov oblasts.

The second target in Anna’s settlement, identified by Astra as the Anninsky distillery, suffered more extensive damage.

According to Gusev’s report, the attack resulted in two injuries and triggered a fire that took several hours to extinguish.

The Anna settlement also houses the “Annanefteprodukt” LLC oil depot, which was previously attacked by drones in early October.

Both facilities are located approximately 50 kilometers apart, according to ASTRA Telegram. These distilleries are also involved in producing fuel and explosives for military purposes.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defense systems intercepted 21 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions: 13 over Belgorod, six over Bryansk, and one each over Voronezh and Kursk.
