Russian forces launch 900 guided bombs on Ukraine in one week, Zelenskyy says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on 13 October that over the course of one week, Russia employed approximately 900 guided aerial bombs, more than 40 missiles, and 400 attack drones of various types against Ukraine.

In recent weeks, the Russians intensified the guided bomb strikes, targeting residential neighborhoods of Ukrainian cities. This is in addition to Russia’s ongoing daily drone and missile strikes. Russia launches KAB guided bombs, Shahed long-range “kamikaze” drones, and missiles in attempts to terrorize civilians and damage civilian infrastructure.

Zelenskyy emphasized that no nation should face such trials alone. He called upon international partners to provide the necessary quantity and quality of air defense systems, make decisions to ensure sufficient long-range capabilities for Ukraine, and ensure timely delivery of defensive aid to Ukrainian soldiers.

The Ukrainian President stressed the importance of not wasting time and sending a clear signal of determination.

“We are working to the maximum to obtain for Ukraine the ability to fully respond to Russian terror,” Zelenskyy stated.
