Russia attacks Ukraine with 82 air targets, hitting energy infrastructure in Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia oblasts

Russia attacks Ukraine with 82 air targets, hitting energy infrastructure in Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia oblasts

Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight on 11 April with 82 targets, Ukraine’s air defenses reported. In particular, 20 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, six Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, 12 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, 40 Shahed-131/136 drones, and four Kh-59 guided missiles were laucnhed.

Ukraine destroyed 16 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, 39 Shahed-131/136 drones and two Kh-59 guided missiles.

The main Russian target in the night attack was Lviv Oblast, according to Ukraine’s air forces.

Lviv Oblast Head Maksym Kozytskyi said that Russian missiles and drones hit two critical energy infrastructure facilities in the Lviv Oblast. In particular, a gas distribution infrastructure facility in the Stryi district and an electricity substation in the Chervonohrad district. Ukraine’s air forces downed seven Russian drones and six cruise missiles over the oblast.

Rescuers have reportedly quickly extinguished the fire. There were no casualties, according to the governor.

The air alert in the Lviv Oblast lasted over three hours. The Polish forces activated their fighter jets during the Russian air attack on the western region of Ukraine overnight, the Polish Operational Command reported on X.

According to the Kyiv Military Administration, Russia also hit a critical infrastructure facility in Kyiv Oblast overnight. There were reportedly no casualties.

Ukraine’s air forces also destroyed two Russian missiles over Zaporizhzhia Oblast, which hit an energy infrastructure facility in the oblast, according to the Zaporizhzhia Military Administration.

Russian missiles and drones also targeted Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk oblasts overnight. There were no casualties reported.

In Kharkiv, the Russian C-300 also targeted an energy infrastructure facility and damaged apartments, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said.

Syniehubov said there were about nine explosions, and there may be power outages in the oblast. Over 200,000 customers in Kharkiv Oblast have been left without electricity, according to Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Oleksiy Kuleba.

Russia attacked two gas storage facilities of the state-owned oil and gas company Naftogaz, the company reported.

Russian attack on Kharkiv Oblast on 10 April injured four people, killed three, including a 14-year-old girl, and damaged a shop and a bus.
