Ukrainian military intelligence forces raid Russian positions in Belgorod Oblast

Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) forces conducted a cross-border raid in the Belgorod Oblast of Russia, causing losses among Russian troops. This operation was part of a special mission to counteract Russian sabotage and protect Ukrainian civilians near the state border who suffer from daily attacks, GUR stated. According to GUR's report on Telegram, the raid was meticulously planned following intelligence about a scheduled inspection by senior Russian military officials in the Grayvoron district of the Belgorod Oblast. The inspection was reportedly organized due to complaints from the local personnel about poor service conditions. In a direct quote from the GUR, the operation's purpose was stated as follows: "In connection with the increasing cases of sabotage by the Russians and to protect the Ukrainian civilians living in communities near the state border suffering from the aggressor's attacks, the warriors of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine implemented a complex of special actions." During the mission, the intelligence officers mined the only road used by the Russian troops in the area and attacked a Russian platoon.

“As a result of a fire attack involving small arms and mortars, as well as an explosion of Ukrainian mines, the enemy suffered losses,” GUR said.
