A new mural in Kyiv shows air defense forces and energy workers — two main professions keeping the city safe

In Kyiv, a symbolic mural dedicated to air defense forces and energy workers was opened at 3-A Mykola Mikhnovskyi Boulevard. The project Defenders of Light began in the spring of 2023.

A symbolic mural dedicated to air defense forces and energy workers at Mikhnovskyi Boulevard in Kyiv depicts a military man watching the sky and an energy engineer repairing power grids in case of damage.

The author of the illustration was Dartsia Zironka, and the mural was created by Andriy Kovtun, Anton Kondrashov, and Victoria Laim. The results of the competition chose artists and illustrators.

The opening of the mural was attended by soldiers of the 112th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces, as well as the energy workers of the DTEK company.

Murals have long been one of Kyiv’s distinct features.
