Russians spent several hours interrogating a Ukrainian paratrooper with 75% of his body burned
Soldiers of the 79th airborne brigade, sandwiched in between Russia and the terrorists, had been effectively surrounded for more than 10 days, being shelled daily with grads, tanks, MSTA (mobile heavy artillery vehicles), mortars etc. One of the volunteers of the brigade got taken away to Russia where, with 75% of his body covered by burns, he was interrogated for several hours. Wings Phoenix, volunteer working to provide this brigade with all the necessary equipment, visited him in the Dnipropetrovsk hospital.

It has been three hours since I cannot find the right names for them… inhumans? Animals do not act like that. Bastards and scum? This would be too nice and blandly. I hate them with all my heart. I wish them death very sincerely, painful and slow death for all these bastards…all bastards that have been interrogating our wounded soldier for two hours!

I’m in Dnipropetrovsk, there were meetings here, and there were conversations and scandals here. And later I was in the hospital where my brothers from the 79th brigade are located. In one of the hospital’s units there are three burned soldiers.  Eyes were looking at me in the dark hospital room…75% of the burned to coal body. Head! Shit! A coal with furious, live, smart eyes that had a cry of pain and curiosity: “Phoenix, what is there? How are things? How are ours? So, did they take Saurka [Savur-Mohyla, a strategic height in the Donetsk ridge, located on the border of the Luhansk oblast and Donetsk oblast in Ukraine, and the Rostov oblast in Russia].

I could not look at him. No, not because it was a horrible wound. I have seen wounds – I have worked in an intensive care unit, I have seen different things. But these eyes, this horror!

A few days ago I called my guys [Phoenix is supplying one of the brigades with the other volunteers]. And after a simple question, “How is it, brothers”, I received a peculiar answer “Phoenix, we have a Mordor here.” The photos speak for themselves. It was a night shootout from the Russian territory. At that time one died and two got burned. Our guys could not evacuate them so they had to give them to those bastards. Well yes, everybody was hoping that this scum had at least something humanity. Unfortunately. No.

We will be helping them. We will be paying for their medications, rehabilitation, and surgeries. Tomorrow an amputation of the wrists is scheduled. They will be trying to save him, but 75% of burns…

Serhiy, 25 years old, a soldier working under a contract. The sound of our conversation is here.

We were given a few minutes to talk, as he cannot be conscious for a long time.

We cannot let these eyes dim.

We cannot.
