Crimea can be kept under the heel of a puppet government of autonomy and its Moscow patrons only in the case of rights violations indigenous people of Crimea or even ethnic cleansing against Crimean Tatars. This people is in danger and the whole international community must stand up for it, not only Ukraine and Türkiye.”

Portnikov called for the West and the Muslim worlds to step in and stop Russian aggression. “I hope that the West and the Muslim world not only remember the tragedy of Bosnian Muslims, but also learned necessary lessons from it. Aggression must be stopped not just for the sake of protecting Ukraine’s territorial sovereignty.”
