Ukrainian forces shot down dozens of Russian drones on 20 June using new domestically developed interceptors. With G7 support, Kyiv is ramping up production to counter Russia’s rapidly escalating drone warfare.
The two leaders were shown new UAVs, FPV drones, and ground robots, including AI-guided systems developed in Ukraine and in collaboration with Germany.
“We are obviously better at choosing drones and maneuvering. We have more than 165 developments of various types that are being tested and used on the battlefield,'' the commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces said.
President Zelenskyy's latest decree aims to enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities through the creation of a specialized Unmanned Systems branch within the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
