This time the war has claimed the life of Ruslan Yurchyshyn, a young ATO soldier from Ivano-Frankivsk (western Ukraine).
Ruslan died on the night of January 1 and 2 in the village of Dori (near Yaremche, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast). He was on vacation. His friends and volunteer worker Lisa Maslyak report that Ruslan fell asleep and did not wake up.
Ruslan, an artist by training, was the only male in the family. In summer 2014, he put away his paint brushes and canvases, picked up a rifle and set off for the frontlines. He was seriously wounded in the leg by an enemy sniper on January 1, 2015, and was undergoing treatment and rehabilitation therapy. He was treated in Greece and spent many hours in rehabilitation therapy at home. He was planning to start a new rehabilitation programme for his injured leg.
Heroes never die!
