A Ukrainian drone unit commander said Ukrainian forces carried out coordinated overnight drone strike son 16 Russian military targets, including air defense systems and bases linked to Iskander ballistic missile complexes.
Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, said the attack was part of a broader effort to degrade Russia’s layered air defense and strike capabilities across occupied territories.
The reported targets span Crimea as well as occupied parts of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, suggesting a wide operational scope.
Ukrainian drones strike Russian air defenses and Iskander bases
According to Brovdi, the strikes targeted three air defense systems, including a Pantsir system near Feodosia in occupied Crimea, an Osa-AK system near Vodiane in Donetsk Oblast, and a Buk-M1 system near Bahativka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
He also claimed that Ukrainian drones hit two bases hosting Iskander operational-tactical missile systems in Crimea, located near the settlements of Mizhhiria and Kurortne. These systems have been used by Russia to launch strikes against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
Oil depots, Black Sea Fleet logistics, and Rubikon facility
Additional targets included two oil storage facilities in Crimea and an ammunition depot linked to Russia’s Black Sea Fleet logistics.
Brovdi said Ukrainian forces also struck a facility associated with the elite Russian drone unit Rubikon in occupied Donetsk Oblast. The site, described as a drone workshop and storage base, was destroyed, according to his statement.
Deep strike center coordinates the campaign
He further confirmed a separate overnight strike in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, referencing activity near Tuapse. He said details of that operation would be released later by Ukraine’s General Staff.
Brovdi added that the attacks were coordinated through a newly established “deep strike” center within Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, aimed at integrating long-range drone operations against high-value targets.
Ukraine has increasingly relied on long-range drone operations to target Russian logistics, air defenses, and missile infrastructure both in occupied territories and deep inside Russia, seeking to disrupt strike capabilities and complicate rear-area operations.
