Russia has likely struck Ukraine's Lviv Oblast in the west of the country with its intercontinental medium range missile, known as Oreshnik.
According to Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Russia has hit the infrastructure object.
Ukraine has no air defenses against this type of ballistic missile.
Minutes before the strike, Ukrainian Telegram channels reported the threat from Russia's Kapustin Yar polygon and the Air Forces announced aerial alert across the entire country.
Residents of Lviv Oblast have heard over 10 loud blasts that might have been explosions from six missile's warheads.
Meanwhile, 100 drones are heading to attack Kyiv. Monitoring channels also say that Moscow may again fire the Oreshnik missile at Ukraine during the night.
Earlier, Russia sent this intermediate ballistic missile to Belarus, putting European cities in its range.
