US President Joe Biden is set to host a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Germany on 12 October, following his recent talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.

The Ramstein format meeting will bring together international partners to coordinate additional assistance for Ukraine. According to the White House statement, President Biden will host a leader-level meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Germany, where the “two leaders will review progress on these consultations and coordinate with international partners on additional assistance for Ukraine.”

During their meeting in Washington, Biden and Zelenskyy discussed Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression. The White House reports that President Biden outlined his decision to surge US security assistance to Ukraine, and President Zelenskyy presented his plan to achieve victory over Russia.

Emphasizing the US commitment to Ukraine’s cause, the White House added, “President Biden is determined to provide Ukraine with the support it needs to win.”

Before meeting with Zelenskyy, Biden reportedly stated that Russia “will not win the war with Ukraine,” although the exact context and timing of this statement are not provided in the given text.

Zelenskyy met with a bipartisan US Senate delegation, briefing them on key points of his “victory plan,” though the provided information did not disclose details of this plan.

Zelenskyy told CNN earlier that he was going to present a Victory Plan to US officials during his upcoming visit, with a key focus on obtaining approval for the use of long-range weapons against targets inside Russia.
