"Artillery and mortar systems are in high demand by Ukraine. With this donation package, we are providing a substantial contribution to the Ukrainians' fight for freedom, including additional Caesar artillery systems and accompanying ammunition. These donations, made in collaboration with our allies, send an important signal that we stand united behind Ukraine," Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen stated.The aid package, valued at approximately 2.3 billion Danish kroner ($337 million), is the 16th military aid package from Denmark to Ukraine. It includes financing for Caesar howitzers in collaboration with France and 155 mm artillery shells in partnership with Estonia and the Czech Republic. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen emphasized the need for political and economic will in Europe to support Ukraine, particularly in terms of artillery ammunition. "With this donation package, we demonstrate to Ukraine and our European allies that Denmark has the will and ability to continue our support for Ukraine as long as necessary. I hope more countries will follow suit and contribute to realizing these opportunities as quickly as possible," he said. Troels Lund Poulsen further highlighted Denmark's role as one of the most active donor countries since the start of the war. "With the 16th donation package, we underline our long-term commitment to Ukraine. Their fight for freedom is also Europe's fight, and we cannot afford to fail the Ukrainians now. Our continued support is crucial for the war's outcome," the Danish Defense Minister stated.
